Category FIVAPE Press releases

This Tuesday, November 1, marks the start of the 7th Moi(s) Sans Tabac operation, organized by Santé Publique France since 2016. FIVAPE, a partner in this major event in the fight against tobacco, is fully mobilized through its members to help the 15 million French smokers quit.

Since 2016, nearly a million French people have registered online to benefit from the various services on offer (website, app, help kit....). In total, between 300,000 and 500,000 quit attempts are attributable to Moi(s) Sans Tabac each year.

Vaping products play a central role, as they are the number-one cessation aid used by smokers1, ahead of nicotine substitutes. Popular with smokers as a way of quitting, they are valued for their effectiveness, since they are considered twice as effective as other cessation aids2. It is estimated that vaping products have helped nearly 1,000,000 people quit smoking since their introduction in France3.

Jean Moiroud, President of FIVAPE: " mois sans tabac is a key initiative in the fight against smoking in France. Beyond this month, everyone must do their part to help smokers quit. It's this difficult task that our industry tackles on a daily basis, accompanying smokers as they quit, and providing them with expert advice to ensure they have the equipment best suited to their needs. It's this expertise that makes vaping such a success.

Benefiting from its dedicated page on tabac-info-service to properly inform smokers about the product, vape will once again be at the heart of this 2022 edition. As in previous years, the "Moi(s) Sans Tabac" is an opportunity for industry professionals to demonstrate their commitment, involvement and expertise in helping the French quit smoking.
