Over a year ago, the associations AIDUCE, SOVAPE, LA VAPE DU CŒUR and FIVAPE jointly launched MERCI LA VAPE to draw the attention of public authorities and the media to the threats facing vaping and its users.
Launched on World Anti-Tobacco Day, May 31, 2023, MERCI LA VAPE was divided into several sections:
- a petition gathered nearly 100,000 signatures
- a questionnaire collected responses from 40,000 people
- an initial summary of the survey results was published at the time of Mois Sans Tabac 2023
- a white paper entitled "Pour une politique d'intérêt général sur la vape" ("For a general-interest policy on vaping"), distributed in a free digital version on May 31, 2024, World No-Tobacco Day and the anniversary of MERCI LA VAPE
Confirming popular support, the participative financing was a success, enabling us to distribute the books via our associations, and to send copies to the contributors, to whom we would like to extend our warmest thanks.
MERCI LA VAPE was carried out in a constructive spirit, formulating justified and substantiated demands. The White Paper now presents the public authorities with clear, reasonable and legitimate proposals for a general-interest policy on vaping. May the new Assembly and the new government seize this incredible opportunity and renew the dialogue with our associations in order to help people who smoke to free themselves from smoking, a scourge which kills 75,000 French people every year.

The associations AIDUCE, SOVAPE, LA VAPE DU COEUR and FIVAPE, each in their own field, fight against smoking. They advocate harm reduction, a humane approach that is highly appreciated by users. They have no links whatsoever with the tobacco industry, and claim as much in their articles of association and in their actions.
