FIVAPE's responses to the European Commission's consultation on the revision of the TPD

FIVAPE Regulations category

The public consultation launched by the European Commission is a further step towards the revision of the Directive that regulates tobacco and related products, including vape, in the EU internal market. The aim of the consultation is to gather information and perceptions from stakeholders on the current European legislative framework on tobacco, as well as on advertising, promotion and sponsorship, and to assess whether the framework has achieved its objectives.

However, Fivape is going to express its dissatisfaction by lodging a complaint with the European Ombudsman, concerning the Commission's bias in formulating the questions asked. They are clearly biased in favor of more restrictive regulation of vape products, and fail to take into account all the arguments in favor of the use of vape as an alternative to tobacco.

However, it is important that vape professionals take the time to answer this questionnaire, despite the biases present. By expressing your point of view, you can contribute to a more balanced revision of the TPD, based on objective data.

We therefore invite you to take a few minutes to complete the European Commission's questionnaire, available on their website: https: //ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/EvalTobacco23?surveylanguage=fr

You can use FIVAPE's answer as a reference for completing the questionnaire, which also includes tips for answering two open-ended questions, if you wish.
