Since March 30, the European Commission has been consulting on the future revision of Directive 2011/64/EU on tobacco taxation. The consultation is open until June 22, and requires as much input as possible. We urge you to respond by clicking on this link.
Steps to access the consultation
Click on the "fill in the questionnaire" button .
This will take you to the EU Login page.
You have several options for logging in, including creating an account or logging in via Facebook, Twitter or Google.
You can then access the online consultation, which is available in all the official languages of the European Union. Your contribution can therefore be made in French. It can also be anonymous or public.
Only questions marked with a red asterisk must be answered. In this case, it's information about you. You can therefore choose to answer all three parts, or only the one(s) of particular interest to you.. You also have the option, at the end of the consultation, of adding a document to complete your response (Word or PDF for example).
NB: please note that if you are responding as an organization, it is strongly recommended that you are first registered in the EU transparency register. For greater transparency, you will be asked to indicate your register number.
The questionnaire is divided into three sections:
- Taxation of traditional tobacco products ;
- Taxation of new tobacco products (heated tobacco, vaping, chewable or snuffable smokeless tobacco products and nicotine-based products without tobacco);
- Controlling the tobacco supply chain.
