World No-Tobacco Day on May 31: publication of the white paper for a public-interest vape policy

Category FIVAPE Press releases

The publication of the white paper by the associations AIDUCE, SOVAPE, LA VAPE DU CŒUR and FIVAPE is announced for May 31, 2024 in a free digital version. Participatory funding will be available from June 1 to 10 to purchase the printed book and help the associations distribute it.

The MERCI LA VAPE white paper is the culmination of a year of mobilization, with a petition that has already reached a record of almost 90,000 signatories and a survey with 40,000 participants, the largest ever carried out in France. It confirms the scientific studies: vaping is an effective and popular way of quitting smoking.

Yet in our country, smoking remains at a very high level and is no longer falling. France is one of the worst performers in the world. While a decline in smoking was clearly taking shape with the arrival of vaping, in recent years a policy of denigration has taken hold against it, as confirmed by the new National Plan for Tobacco Control 2023-2027.

With this white paper, vape industry players, independent of the tobacco industry, wish to set out their proposals for a general interest policy on vape. So that our country can better seize this opportunity, as others have done with very convincing results.

In keeping with the citizen spirit that characterizes the operation, from May 31 the book will be published free of charge in a digital version. Participatory funding will enable us to print as many copies as possible, and distribute them to the key players and decision-makers in the fight against smoking.

Today, the associations are calling on everyone who wants to defend vape in the face of the projects that threaten it to mobilize one last time to reach the symbolic figure of 100,000 signatories to the MERCI LA VAPE petition.
